Styling Pink & Polka Dots

Pairing pink and polka dots has been one of my favorite styling combinations since the dawn of time. The two play well off of each other and they make a great duo! I have always had a thing for retro prints like polka dots...and pink has just been a staple color for me since I was a zygote. Pairing the two gives a look a certain quirkiness that I enjoy not just in clothing but also in accessories and even housewares! Do you pair pink with polka dots?

Here I have linked some pink and polka dot wishlist faves of mine in hopes I am not the only cray cray one out there obsessed with this combination:)

4 Tips On How To Style Flat Lays

Flat lays are an incredible way to showcase your personal style; they are a fun creative outlet and a great way to style yourself! Laying out flat lays is also super helpful for when you're planning what to wear for the week, planning a trip, or with selling items on your closet on Poshmark or similar apps!

Here are some of the tips I use when styling my flat lays:

1) Sunlight. Sunlight, in my opinion, creates some of the very best flat lay images. Utilizing soft morning sun or even bright afternoon sun makes for the most clear flat lay pictures! Place items you're shooting out of the direct light, but make sure to use the light to make the outfit bright enough to see in your photo. Basically, very near but not IN the sunlight.

2) Take A Million Snaps. Take lots of pictures of your flat lay, move things around, reposition items, don't be afraid to switch it up and shoot a lot of pics until you have found the gem image you want to go with! Hover above your items laying them on a blanket on the floor or even on the bed if you are balanced you can use a chair!

3) Add Your Style. Pair things up in your flat lay that you love! Pair your favorite earrings with your favorite sweater and compliment the look with a stellar pair of shoes! Throw in prints with solids and denims, mix textures like faux leather with florals, add the right amount of pieces until your image feels complete!

4) Edit. After I have the image I love, I toss my pic through an app and brighten the exposure. You can actually brighten your photo in your camera roll under 'edit', but I prefer to use an app, my favorite editing apps are A Color Story & Lightroom. Brightening up a photo gives it just a little more pop and zing than pictures with out this touch.

Here are some of my favorite flat lays I've snapped from over the last few years:)
